You were all great today!!
The website that I found to be the most helpful was the www.californiacolleges.com website. It is subtitled, The official source for college and career planning, although that cite did direct me to different websites that had plenty more information. I am looking specifically for a college that can get me a degree as well as the best veterinarian program. The top three schools that I found were University of California Davis, University of Pennsylvania, and University of San Francisco. Also I was able to look at the annual wages, how the statistics are looking for that field in the future, and how many years I need to be in school. I feel that if I could have known about this this website or any of the websites that are out there earlier that I would have my thoughts a little more clearer. But at the same time, I am glad that I have this site a long with others so I can do more research. I have found myself revisiting these sites everyday; it kind of brings an excitement for the future. I see myself using more than just this website to be positive in what I want to do.
ReplyDeleteThe website that has and will continue helping me is the www.cacareercafe.com website. It provided me with many different examples and advantages of the 15 California career pathways. And while searching and gaining information, i think i made up my mind to the last two careers I'm actually interested on and will continue searching about. I been interested in event planning/management and found out actually many different ways i can work my way around this field. As well as finding interesting places I can work my skills in; such as big tourism and hospitality areas and maybe even have my own company. I'm more of a visual learner and this website was colorful enough to catch my attention, as well as providing tutorials and videos of real students around the area. I will for sure go back to this website since it also provides you with steps to obtain a job, use your skills, and even just keep researching and see if your in the right pathway to the career you want.
ReplyDeleteThe website I found the most interesting was Californiacolleges.net after I found it because I was looking at the wrong website for like about 10 min. I had typed Californiacolleges.com but it was Californiacolleges.net. I put in my major in and it should me different careers I could go in to. I found it really cool because it gave you a lot of information about each career not only educationally but what kind of person you needed to be to succeed in this career. There was also a section called Financial Fitness, which helps you manage your money I took a long look at that one. Also there was also one section entitled Financial Aid Planning Timeline which I thought it was about money at first but it was about what you should start doing as far back as 7th grade to prepare for college I found that really interesting. Overall I really liked this website.
ReplyDeletethe website that i found more interesting was www.cacarercafe.com
ReplyDeletei liked that i gave you small facts about your goals and your plannings. i saw a short video on what we talked about in class last week about career interviews which i found somewhat helpful. I like the idea they created having enough information if you dont know where to start for your future. i like the tips they give you and the information about the career you want. so far i do have my plans written and i believe i know what i want to do.now i know the steps that i have to do and im glad this website was provided
The website that I found useful was www.cacareercafe.com. I found it useful and very helpful because the website has good preparing lessons that help you in terms of writing a good resume for a job. Even though we already have our resumes it’s always good to have another back up plan incase you have to re-do it. They also have searching strategies on where they provide you with tips so you can find your job sooner. This website also have great tips on where they show you great videos to prepare for interviews, how to network etc. I will continue to use this website and refer back to it when I do decide to look for my desired job. It is always good to know of these useful websites so in the future we can always go back and learn something new.
ReplyDeleteI think that the site that I found most useful was the California Colleges one because, when I went to the college that I might want to consider it based it upon the type of environment I was looking forward to and the how much I wanted to pay I found myself a little wrapped up in the site, but I also liked the site cacareercafe.com because they had these lesson videos and they seemed really cool I feel like I gained something from watching them, it wasn't just something I looks over, they had things about your strengths, which peeked my interest because I know we've been going over knowing your strengths and knowing who you are I did the venn diagram and was shocked about the types of things that I could do in the future. Something else I liked about the california colleges site was the expenses and money saved from living at home if I were to rent an apartment now I would be spending another 3 grand a year and that is pretty extreme amount that I am saving, I just thought that was an interesting thing to see.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I liked both web pages because they offer many resources we can use as college students. They have resources from career exploration to job finders. Another thing I found interesting was the experience section from career cafe because they show us what we need to do in order to have experience before graduating from college. The web page I liked the most was cacareercafe.com because they have everything in one place and the resources are well organized and easy to find. They go step by step, from career exploration, getting experience, preparing for an interview or to apply for a job, and they have a job finder as a bonus. I will definitely visit this website in the future to see the resources available and to be better prepared for internships and jobs.
ReplyDeleteI really like the cacareercafe. The homepage is very user-friendly and takes on some of the info that wouldn't fit into any specific part of the process. another thing I like is the bar that you follow through to get information and learn several things that on other sites would either not be included or written out in a way that left you confused on what to do next. For example, on "Explore" there is info that trails off to internships, scholarships, mentors. I plan to continue this site as I go through college.
ReplyDeleteAfter reviewing all the websites I found the California colleges to be the most helpful because of the mini assessments they have under the "Learn About Yourself" tab. Onee of the assessments included was called "Interest Profiler" which helped match your interests with careers which I thought was very helpful. Another on included a "Basics Skills Survey" which matched your basic skills to possible career options. Overall, this website is one I will be referring to on a regular basis in terms of seeing if I'm heading in the right direction in pursuit of my ideal career.
ReplyDeleteI loved both websites but I found more interesting the cacareercafe.com. I took an assessment test which says that social jobs are the best for me because I love to talk and take care of people, so that means I am in the right direction. Also, what I liked about this website is that it provides you with some specifics on regards of the jobs you can perform, tells you an average of how much you could earn and there is a link that takes you to find jobs in your state.... That was the most awesome part, the jobs because I got to see that there are actually some jobs that I could apply for once I finish my education. I will be looking at these websites until I actually go to graduate school because they have so much information that I can always go back and review.
ReplyDeleteThe website that I visited/like was the Cacareercafe.com. This site is very easy to used with great information and also video lesson. They have fifteen different career pathways that can help you narrow down what career field might be right for you, by answering questions. On this site you can also take the People Skills test that can tell your rate on the various attributes and competencies that employer look for. There are many different things/ways that can help you validate your career choice. I really like this site and I'll be a frequent user of this website.
ReplyDeleteI think I enjoyed californiacolleges.net because it pretty much gives you a road map to your career. You search for your major and it shows you all the different possibilities that your major can afford you. For me, not only can I be an actor, but I can become a director, a teacher, a techie and so forth.
ReplyDeleteThe website i found the most useful and interesting is Road Trip Nation because of the stories that you hear from the people in the field you want to go into and you get to hear out of their mouth how they chose that career path and whats routes they took to get there and career cafe because of the skills test that you get to take and it really shows you what your skills are and then you can relate them to your career of choice and i will use this to see if my career choice is the right one for me and what skills i will need t obtain or what skills i already have to fit in my career choice
ReplyDeletei checked out cacareercafe right after last personal growth, just forgot about the blog. it was very interesting the factors you need to consider and dwell in before choosing a career on steering through one clearly. When i was done with the insights and tools i was like wait there has to be more haha. the instruction giving through each video and each description was very accurate and useful
ReplyDeleteI really like cacareercafe.com website because I gained more information about how to be successful in college and beyond. I learned that setting goals is one of the key skills in achieving success in college. I watched the video about the goal setting system called "S.M.A.R.T" and I found that it's very interesting because in order for me to be successful, I have to know what I want to do, what steps to take, how I can achieve it, and how long will it take me to achieve my goal. I want to become a nurse, and I want to get an associate's degree here in San Diego City College, and get a bachelor's degree in nursing when I transfer to a four year colleges. The website provides me tips on what steps I should take in order to achieve my goals. When I clicked on "Explore," it took me to a page where it said "California's 15 Pathways," and I clicked on "Health Science and Medical Technology" because that is what I want to study to become a nurse. When I clicked on that, it tells me about the traits of people in the industry and I feel like I have those traits in me. I love science, I am a good problem solver, I work well with others, and I am comfortable working in a healthcare setting. When I clicked on "Experience," the biggest part is that I should volunteer at the medical field in order to gain experiences working with people in a healthcare setting. I feel like I am on the right path to achieve my goals because I am in school to get my degrees in nursing, and I also volunteer at the clinic to gain experiences working with people in the medical field.
ReplyDeleteI found the website every useful I like how it was easy to find what you need from looking at jobs and important information. Road trip Nation was really good because you get to see and hear how people like and what they went through to get to were they are at. I will use this website in the future to help me get more ideas and help when it comes to finding job or getting the back ground information in the job.
ReplyDeleteThe website that I liked the midst would have to be californiacolleges.edu. the reason for it is that it is really easy to maneuver around and find what you need to find.another reason would have to be that it has all the resources that we could possibly want. Need to assess yourself a little but? Californiacolleges.edy. need to find the best or right path to your choice career? Californiacolleges.edu. Imma stop here before I sound like a form of commercial or advertisement

ReplyDeleteI like californiacolleges.edu because of all the assessments they feature. I took the "Career Key" assessment and got "Artistic" (Creator) and "Social" (Helper). Looks like I don't have to be in MESA to be a Creator. HA! But anyways, I plan on taking more of their assessments to give me an idea of what other careers may interest me or perhaps point me into other opportunities. It's also great for creating back up plans.
ReplyDeleteI really liked cacareercafe.com because would like to be the owner of a business in the future and that first thing that i saw was the lesson of how to be an entrepreneur. That link lead me to other links which explained really detailed of what you would be facing, descriptions, the skills you need among other things. I would definitely use this website in the future to see if i have what it takes to be a "Business Man"
ReplyDeleteThe website that I found the most useful was cacareercafe.com because this website had excellent advices on what I should consider before perusing a career. For example, I should consider my strengths, what I enjoy doing, what drives me, and what I’m good at. In addition the videos were very encouraging. What I enjoy most in life is learning about science, history and math. Therefore I should than consider a career that will allowed me to learn about this subjects.
ReplyDeleteUsing the work.chron.com gave a lot of information on what step you need to take to become and Oral Surgeon or Maxillofacial. It gave more in dept of what the people really do in these careers and the education they need to get the job.
