Reflection...due after break...but sooner is better!! Happy Break Week to each of you....

·      Please find a way to do some relaxation and some ME time over the break....you all work VERY hard

Describe a routine or holiday ritual, using the 2nd person “you”:

For example, “You stand in the steaming kitchen with people you haven’t seen in almost a year. You wish your shirt didn’t have that tiny stain on the cuff. You wish your aunt’s laugh wasn’t quite so brittle. Feet stomp on the porch and you hurry to let your tall uncle in, forgetting to keep the dog from escaping outside…”

Refelction Week #10

We all have both internal and external motivators. Please identify 5 internal and 5 external motivators that are impacting your career choice. Discuss which is most important and why.  Feel free to look up more information online to enhance your reflection.

Extrinsic motivation occurs when we are motivated to perform a behavior or engage in an activity in order to earn a reward or avoid a punishment.

Intrinsic motivation involves engaging in a behavior because it is personally rewarding; essentially, performing an activity for its own sake rather than the desire for some external reward.

Reflection #6...Dream books this week

This one is from MariaElena....in preparation for Dream Books next week. Bring your binders and any magazines you may have that you are willing to have cut up! We will do an introduction and give you most of the class to work on them. You will be presenting Dream Books the week before break...so know that we are expecting you to be working on them. OK, to the reflection...

Recall a photograph from your life and describe it in a way that suggests (but doesn’t specifically name) why it matters to you. “Show, don’t tell.” Describe what happened either just before or just after the photo was taken.

Reflection #3

Many of us spend hours in front of our computers and
communicate more by e-mail or instant-messaging than in person.
Some people believe that this is good because it helps shy people
communicate more openly with others. Others believe that
computer communication prevents us from developing
interpersonal skills and limits our ability to have meaningful
relationships with others. How do you feel about this issue? Is there
anything about your current habits that you would like to change?
What did today's presentation teach you?

Reflection #2

How has examing your income and expenses impacted your way of thinking about finances? Was there anything surprising about how you are spending your money? What did you get out the presentation by Mr. Jackson? Will you be making any changes to how you are spending your money in the next year?

Reflection

Throughout the first week of school I have figured out that I am in for a very busy semester. I honestly thought that all of my classes except for Elementary Statistics were going to be easy A’s; in a way I was wrong. The work load is heavy although the assignments are easy. I have to learn how to manage my time to place that work load into my schedule evenly without stressing me out. A highlight for me is the time that I have on my hands. I am only on campus from Tuesday to Thursday which is great compared to high school and my summer classes. But on the other hand, a lowlight for me would be using my time that I have Friday to Monday wisely, and I can honestly say that I have not been. Throughout this semester I see myself slipping up due to how much I sleep and how lazy I can be. Procrastination is my biggest issue, and it is something that I need to overcome.

So far college has been a whole different experience then I had thought it was going to be like. There has been big high mountain that seem hard to reach for & then there has been small mountains that I can easily climb over.. I think I have stressed over the fact that I might not be able to find my 12 units. If only I had passed math 38 my life on college would have been a little more easier in a way. So far the class that I absolutely adore is my Yoga class. I love the idea that I get to be worried free in that class. I like that I get to release everything out through every exhaled breath. I like that it's makes you feel relieved and so powerful. One other thing I love about college is meeting new people and becoming closer to the people in price. This college life is something real new to me but through out the packs of work & everything at the end of the day I know that it's all worth it.. Because I know I'm going to become successful. I'm really happy that I'm in college because I want something different then what everyone in my family has. I want to be someone my little brother & sister can look up to.

Hey Price Scholars,

This year we are going to try something new and just use one blog for the whole class to see. Instead of having to post on your blog, while reading the prompt on this blog, I will make it so that everyone is an author on this blog and just use this one blog to post your responses. You can check for the prompt by the author tab on the top page and just look for Leslie's name.

If you have any question feel free to ask me tomorrow at 8/28/2013 at price class or again at my email e.delacruz.1993@gmail.com

Assistance?

Hello Fellow Price Members...

For those who don't know me, My name is Eugene Dela Cruz. I am here to help you all with any problems with the blog at anytime.

What's a blog?

A blog is a personal diary. A daily pulpit. A collaborative space. A political soapbox. A breaking-news outlet. A collection of links. Your own private thoughts. Memos to the world. Your blog is whatever you want it to be. There are millions of them, in all shapes and sizes, and there are no real rules.

Design your blog

Whether you're starting your blog or just think it's time to give your existing blog a facelift, Blogger's user-friendly editing tools help you easily design a great-looking page.
Template Designer — Our Template Designer lets you easily create a blog that looks uniquely yours. With just a click after selecting a template, you can choose the colors, fonts, layout, and background of your blog. But, for users who want even more control, you can use our Advanced design features to do everything from changing the color of links to adding custom CSS.
Steps to create a blog:
  1. Create a blog account using your gmail or any other type of email at blogger.com
  2. On the top left of your page... press [New Blog] to create one.
  3. Thinker with the blog and find out your preferences.

Steps to following this Blog:
  1. By going to the main web-blog [personalgrowth120.blogspot.com]
  2. On the top it has pages... the main page will have your weekly assignments created by Ms. Leslie.
  3. The second page will have all the blogs that Ms. Leslie will check for this semester.
  4. If you would like to follow this blog just click followers on the top right corner of the screen.
Important**** Blogger works best on internet explorer rather than google chrome or firefox.
